This subject provides an introduction to basic elements of initial service provision. The subject focuses on the initial or first contact with a service user or potential service user. The subject focuses on the greeting and explanation of services to a service user and the documentation that would need to be provided and completed. Learners will learn about different approaches to addressing specific needs of service users including those that present in an aggressive and/or distressed manner. Communicating with people with a cognitive impairment will also be addressed.
