The module introduces the importance of risk management, budgets and financial planning. The two units BSBRSK501 Manage risk and BSBFIM501 Manage budgets and financial plans together focus on key skills and knowledge for managing
risk, budgets and financial plans within a business context. Students will develop an understanding of risk management in a range of contexts across an organisation or for a specific business unit. Managing risk can facilitate implementation of change across an organisation, business unit, program or project area. Students will develop confidence in undertaking financial management within a work team. Through this subject, students will practice their skills in planning and implementing financial management approaches, supporting team members whose role involves aspects of financial operations, monitoring and controlling finances and reviewing and evaluating effectiveness of financial management processes.
